JINX HAS SINCE BEEN SOLD ON BUT IS ENJOYING AN ACTIVE LIFE ON THE “JURBY LIGHT RAILWAY”.
JINX came to Candlebridge in 1988 and was adopted by the permanent way department on delivery. Powered by an air-cooled Lister engine, JINX’s history is somewhat uncertain. With no records to draw from, all that is known of the locomotive is some parts were built by Bell Engineering. However, one fact is certain, Bell Engineering did not build JINX!
— In reality, JINX is a rechargeable battery-powered diesel outline locomotive that is controlled with a speed controller on the dashboard. The resin wheels & axle boxes come from an old Andy Bell (AnDel) bogie, hence the “Bell Engineering” reference above! —
