Released at the National Garden Railway Show - Stoneleigh (April 2025).
Inspired by the Ffestiniog Railway's JAMES SPOONER, as it briefly ran in 1887, with the Neilson's parallel boiler, classic FR Fairlie cab & sandpots.

Codenamed GOLDEN STAR, the model brings together our experience of 3D printing, design and construction and offers our customers a classic Ffestiniog Double Fairlie at an affordable price.

Built from printed filament and laser-cut acrylic.

Complete with two 3-6volt motor, nylon worm gears, 44mm printed wheels on 1/8" stainless steel axles in brass top-hat bearings, and includes all necessary metal stock, nuts, screws & washers, etc. required to build the model in the photos (except paint, coal & time!)

Also included in the kit is a micro slide switch (with a corresponding hole in the tank top) plus a selection of resin-printed detail parts.

Access to a small "bench vice" is a MUST, to build this kit.

Building instructions are included with the kit.

Although not for beginners, the kit is reasonably easy to construct and requires basic tools, glue, paint and batteries to complete.

There is adequate room in the tanks & boiler (and in particular the firebox) for batteries and your choice of RC unit.

Batteries, RC or any electrics (except micro switch) are not included in the kit.
